Is the CW having a fire sale? Lately it seems like "everything must go." First they announce that "7th Heaven" isn't coming back, and now they are cutting the cord on another popular, long-standing favorite, "Gilmore Girls."
The final episode will air Tuesday, May 15 at 8:00 p.m. (EST), says USA Today. That's soon!
The show focuses around single mom Lauren Graham and daughter Alexis Bledel, who seem have been growing up together over the past seven seasons.
There have been rumors flying for months regarding contract disputes, low ratings, the departure of the show's creators, and that the show might not be coming back.
"Gilmore Girls" first aired on the WB in 2000. When the networked combined its assets with the UPN last year, the show was brought over to anchor its Monday nights. -- Rachel Cericola
I am so unbelievably disappointed about this! I'm going into mourning immediately! I'm really upset with Lauren and Alexis for ditching something that still has so much potential and such a following.
-- Posted by: Helen at May 5, 2007 3:44 PMI was completely shocked, last week, to learn that one of my favorite shows, Gilmore Girls, will be airing it's final episode on May 15th. I don't know who is in charge of making these decisions, but I think this is a bad move. There are very few shows on The CW that I care to watch. Now that Gilmore Girls is leaving the network, I really have no reason to watch The CW after it airs the final episode of Gilmore Girls. The CW should just cancel themselves.
-- Posted by: Charlotte at May 10, 2007 2:17 PMIT IS TOO FUNNY HOW YET ANOTHER SHOW THAT WAS KEPT FROM THE WB TO GO TO THE LAME CW IS NOW CANCELLED, BUT I AM NOT SURPRISED, AND REALLY COULD NOT CARE EITHER, AFTER WB DID NOTHING ALONG WITH CW TO KEEP CHARMED LAST YEAR, A LONG TIME STAPLE AND RATINGS WINNER FOR THE NETWORK, NOW SHOWS THEY KEPT WILL BE ENDED ALSO..LET'S FACE IT..CW SUCKS , AND ALL IT'S LAME ASS SHOWS!
I WILL NEVER WATCH A CW SHOW EVER!
THE GILMORE GIRLS HAS BEEN MY FAVORITE SHOW FOR MANY YEARS.I WANTED LORELI TO END UP WITH CHRIS, BUT I GUESS THAT'S NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. I GUESS SHE IS MORE OF A LUKE PERSON, SINCE SHE NEVER LIKED THE LIFESTYLE OF HER MOM AND DAD( EMILY AND RICHARD, WHOM I ADORE)BUT WHAT'S WITH RORY? SHE OBIVIOULY LIKES THE "GOOD LIFE" WHY HAS SHE TURNED DOWN THE MARRIAGE PROPOSAL? I CAN'T BELIEVE SHE DID THAT, DOES SHE REALLY THINK LOGAN IS GOING TO HOLD HER BACK? FROM WHAT? SHE MAY NOT MAKE IT AS A JOUNALIST. RORY NEEDS TO REMEMBER THAT OLD SAYING ABOUT "A BIRD IN THE HAND" ANYWAY, I WILL MISS STARS HALLOW AND ALL IT'S WONDERFUL CHARACTERS.
-- Posted by: ZUZU at May 14, 2007 11:10 AMThis has broken my heart.I loved this show so much and was waiting for a"Luke and Loreli Wedding" like on General Hospital.People are right , there is no reason to watch this network anymore.Goodby Stars Hallow.
