CBS Plans for Fall 2007-2008 Season

viva.jpgCBS is currently the highest rated network, so they didn't make too many drastic moves for the upcoming season.

New Shows
The Big Bang Theory: Call it "Revenge of the Nerds" -- without the revenge part. Two geeky best friends ("Rosanne" alum Johnny Galecki and Jim Parsons from "Judging Amy") know everything about quantum physics, but have a hard time making small talk with new neighbor Kaley Cuoco ("8 Simple Rules").
Cane: Jimmy Smits comes back to TV to star in this drama about the power struggles of a Cuban-American family running a rum and sugar business in South Florida.
Kid Nation: CBS' token new reality show asks 40 kids to build a new world in 40 days. This thing has "Lord of the Flies" written all over it.
Moonlight: The producer of "The Matrix" is executive producing this story of a vampire P.I. who has a penchant for helping the living versus feeding off them.
Swingtown: Expected to premiere mid-season, this show focuses on sex and social revolution in 1970s suburbia. From the director of HBO hits "Big Love" and "Rome."
Viva Laughlin: Hugh Jackman is executive producing this BBC-based musical mystery set in a casino in Laughlin, Nevada.

One of the network's highest rated shows, "The King of Queens" is gone, along with the "Friends"-inspired flop, "The Class." Other than that, not too many surprises. Why mess with what works? -- Rachel Cericola

Oh my god, first Invasion and now Jericho. How can we ever trust CBS with another cliffhanger? Have a wrap up show or something.

Are my wife and I the only ones who were looking forward to season 2 of The Class? What Happened? Any chance they will bring it back mid-season when something else flops?

Sorry to say that the show was cancelled. There are no plans to bring it back.

Can't believe Jericho has been cancelled surely you don't think any of the new shows will live up to this show. It obviously has too much reality in it, things that could actually and probably will happen for the public to be interested. Yes we all would rather see who is gonna win American Idol instead

"Jericho" is coming back...

Please tell me that the class will be back whit a second season. It"s a great show.If it cancel can you say the reason

-- Posted by: cindy at October 16, 2007 4:44 PM

Sorry Cindy. "The Class" was already cancelled, due to poor ratings.

CBS has been constantly letting the viewers down they cancelled justice, close to home and many more. The public wants more than just one or two seasons.
Just because CBS has enough money and ratings doesn't mean they should cancel shows at their every whim. CBS make shows for the pod people, reality tv doesn't take much imagination or skill, just wannabes.
Bring back close to home at least it has some intelligence.
