Mike Farrell & Polly Bergen Get "Desperate"

Does "Desperate Housewives" need more characters? Someone seems to think so.

Polly Bergen ("Commander in Chief") and Mike Farrell ("M*A*S*H") have both signed on to star in ABC's popular character-heavy drama.

Bergen will play Lynette's (Felicity Huffman) mother and Farrell will be Gabrielle's (Eva Longoria) father-in-law-to-be, says TVGuide.com's Michael Ausiello.

"Desperate Housewives" is currently in its third season. It airs every Sunday at 9:00 p.m. (EST) on ABC. -- Rachel Cericola
