It looks like "The Knights of Prosperity" has been robbed of a timeslot. ABC has pulled the freshman comedy immediately, due to low ratings.
The show, which was helmed by "Grounded for Life" star Donal Logue, focused around a blue-collar band of amateur thieves looking to rob Mick Jagger to achieve better lives. The group recently failed in their efforts, and was supposed to move on to other celebrity targets. Unfortunately, they won't get that chance.
"Knights" was originally titled, "I Want to Rob Jeff Goldblum," which to me, sounded like comedy gold. Unfortunately, Goldblum got his own deal at NBC. After getting a new title (and show victim), the sitcom was pushed off the fall schedule in order to get a "better" launch in the midseason. This included the most feared timeslot -- opposite "American Idol."
I actually enjoyed this show. It was weird and actually kind of creative, and after the first episode, I knew it wouldn't last. However, its timeslot was filled with a repeat of "According to Jim." Has the apocalypse happened and I missed it?
In coming weeks, repeats of "George Lopez" will fill the slot, says Zap2It. There's no word on what ABC plans to do with the show's three remaining episodes. -- Rachel Cericola
Another stupid decision by a network not willing to give creativity a chance
