Jennifer Coolidge & Alan Ruck Join ABC's "Family"

jcoolidge.jpgFrye... Frye... Frye... Ferris Bueller's buddy can't come to class. He's got a new sitcom.

Alan Ruck is joining Christopher Guest favorite Jennifer Coolidge ("For Your Consideration") for the new ABC comedy "Family of the Year." The two actually head up the show's fictional Halloway clan, who are 10-time winners of their hometown's "family of the year" title, says Reuters.

Coolidge's character will be a former beauty queen. Ruck is her sweet, but not too smart, husband. Sounds like they nailed the casting there.

According to IMDB.com, Shana Dowdeswell, Paula Sorge and Dana Walters have also been cast. No word on when the "Family" is coming to ABC. -- Rachel Cericola
