Jeffrey Tambor has signed up for a new CBS comedy, \"The Captain.\"\n\nThe show stars Fran Kranz (\"The Village\") as a writer who lives in an historic Hollywood apartment complex. Tambor plays a retired TV writer.\n\nI couldn't quite picture Kranz at first, but his IMDB.com profile says he's got eight projects brewing, including the untitled Christine Taylor sitcom.
