Jeffrey Tambor Hails "Captain"

jtambor2.jpgHey now! It looks as though TV Fodder's favorite jailbird George Bluth has yet another TV gig. Jeffrey Tambor has signed up for a new CBS comedy, "The Captain."

The show stars Fran Kranz ("The Village") as a writer who lives in an historic Hollywood apartment complex. Tambor plays a retired TV writer.

I couldn't quite picture Kranz at first, but his IMDB.com profile says he's got eight projects brewing, including the untitled Christine Taylor sitcom. That doesn't sound right, does it?

Maybe he's holding on in case "Captain" doesn't work out. It's got to last longer than "Twenty Good Years," right? -- Rachel Cericola
