Turner to Pay for "Aqua Teen" Stunt

aquateen.jpgTurner Broadcasting Systems and Interference Inc. have decided to put last week's PR fiasco behind them by paying Boston $2 million for the advertising campaign that caused the city to go into panic.

A few dozen Lite-Brite-styled signs were found around the city, as part of an advertising campaign for the Cartoon Network's "Aqua Teen Hunger Force."

The money will be divided: $1 million to recoup funds, and $1 million to be divided amongst a variety of state programs, says Boston.com.

Everyone should walk away from this agreement pretty happy, I think. The city made some money, and Turner couldn't pay enough for PR like that. For all of those that were stuck in gridlock that day... well, good luck getting those hours of your life back.

"Aqua Teen Hunger Force" airs weeknights on the Cartoon Network. A feature film is expected to debut nationwide on March 23. -- Rachel Cericola
