Peter Boyle Dies

”pboyle.jpg"Very sad to be reporting this -- Peter Boyle has died. The actor, probably best known as the crabby dad on "Everybody Loves Raymond" was 71.

The actor died last night at New York Presbyterian Hospital. He had been suffering from multiple myeloma and heart disease, according to Bloomberg.com. He had also suffered a stroke and a heart attack in the 90s.

Boyle has appeared in too many movies and TV shows to list here. A few highlights include "Taxi Driver" and "Monster's Ball." However, I will always remember him being scalded by a blind Gene Hackman in the Mel Brooks comedy "Young Frankenstein."

He is probably best known for the 10 years that he portrayed Frank Barone on TV's "Everybody Loves Raymond."

According to IMDB.com, Boyle was a good friend of John Lennon, who served as the best man at his wedding. The site also says that the actor was about to start work on two new movies.

Boyle is survived by his wife and two daughters. -- Rachel Cericola

HOLY CRAP! Frank Barone has died. I'll forever miss Peter Boyle and all the great memories he provided as Raymond's dad on the show. Guess that means Jerry Stiller (Arthur Spooner on King of Queens) is officially the craziest old man on TV now.

Rest in Peace, Frank Barone!

Jerry Stiller???

Sorry to tell you this, Johnny B., but Peter Boyle was the crazier guy. As crazy as Arthur Spooner is, he can't compete with Frank Barone in that category.

We miss you, Peter Boyle. Thanks for the memories!
