"The King's" reign is about to come to an end. After nine years, "The King of Queens" will end its run this May.
There were rumors that the show would not return this year, due to the high-priced salary negotiations of its two lead stars. However, the price appeared to be worth it, as the show's season premiere drew around 10 million viewers.
The show, which stars Kevin James and Leah Remini as a married couple, first began as a spin-off to another popular CBS sitcom, "Everybody Loves Raymond," says All Headline News. It's currently the longest running sitcom on the air.
"The King of Queens" airs every Wednesday at 8:00 p.m. on CBS. As of April 9, the show will finish its run every Monday at 9:30 p.m. -- Rachel Cericola
My husband and I are so sad to see the show go....YOU ARE BOTH very funny people. I have to say Dougy and Kerry will be very hard to beat your are the funniest couple on T.V. You're two people who can always make us laugh, guaranteed. We wish both of you the best in the future and hope to see you again soon on T.V. or at the movies.
Yours truly,
#1 fans Sue & Claude
I'm sad to see this one go it so is like watching my realationship on tv but the roles are reversed I'm Doug and My Boyfriend is Cary. It truly is the funniest show ever!!!!
-- Posted by: Ria Martinez at February 15, 2007 3:16 AMTHE BEST SHOW EVER DOUG HEFFERNAN THE FUNNIEST A. SPOONER THE BIGGIEST STAR WHO LIVES IN THE BASEMENT. THE BEST SHOW IN THE WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PS. GO METS
-- Posted by: nick salata at February 15, 2007 10:34 AMI guess it's time. I knew it wouldn't last forever. But I'll continue watching re-runs for years. That's the genius of the show, it is timeless, you don't have to see them in order or anything, just jump in on any episode and you catch on to everyone's role and the performances or Doug/Carie and A.Spooner are always great fun.
-- Posted by: MarkP at February 16, 2007 1:39 PMwell, i started watching this show long after it was a hit and love it!! i have not had enough and would like to see a couple of more seasons at least. doug is an example of the reasons im not married and carrie is me, frustrated. i totally relate to this show and would like to see it for a couple of more years. i like (not love) how i met your mother but dont see a long future for that show. its a time slot show and i only watch it because of two and a half men and old christine. there i said it.
-- Posted by: in atlanta at February 19, 2007 3:48 PMMy husband and I love King of Queens and hope that by some miracle that it returns!
-- Posted by: Corinne at February 23, 2007 6:48 PMI'm so sad to see this show go. I love Doug and Carrie! Spence needs to come out of the closet before the show goes though. Come on, LOL. Best of luck to the whole cast. Nothing can replace the "King of Queens" Great work! Thanks for the laughs!
-- Posted by: unknown at February 24, 2007 7:54 PMI started watching the show after my wife and I married. At times it seemed as though we were living our lives through Doug & Carrie or vise versa. I'm a little chubby so is Doug; My wife is beautiful and so is Carrie. My wife is tough like Carrie; I'm not. Its Doug and Carrie in the Aguirre household. Will miss you guys!!
-- Posted by: Alex Aguirre at February 27, 2007 10:58 PMi am confused? this website states that there are new episodes of king of queens on wed. at 8:oopm. that is just not true. the show jerico is on in that time slot. so what is going on? will there be some sort of series finale in may of this year? please let me know so i can be sure to watch for it. it is such a great show.
-- Posted by: andrea at March 5, 2007 11:00 PMI think CBS is crazy to cancel this show! this show is 100 times better than half the shows that got picked up for another season. For me and my family it's a ritual to watch and laugh at a look at real life and how they deal with it with comedy.Even though it is cancelled we will continue to watch the repeats on channel 9 and also TBS. Kudos to those two networks for having the sense to continue with it! Maybe the actors should look into finding another network to pick them up before throwing in the towel!
-- Posted by: Laura at March 12, 2007 11:01 PMThe king of queens was the funniest show! I don't know why they cancelled it. Doug and Carey and Arthur were hilarious! Hope they think twice before ending the series.
:)
One of the few funny family sitcoms (which seems to be a dying breed)left on television. Disappointed to see it go and disgusted to see the way it was treated in its final season.
-- Posted by: Phil at March 21, 2007 2:25 AMI am one who didn't get into the show untill WAY after it was a hit BUT it's so damn funny It made me do something I never imagined I'd ever do for a sitcom. I purchased SEASONS 1-7 on DVD! I laugh at each show as it was the first time I ever saw it. I, like so many people I know in Jersey, can relate to Doug, Carrie and Authur as if was our own lives. This show is on par with "Senfeld" and much better than "Friends" ever was!! A sitcom classic that I will hate to see leave primetime! I will forever be a fan of Kevin, Leah (damn!,she is STILL fine even with the extra weight) and Jerry.
-- Posted by: Anthony at March 25, 2007 9:06 PMUnbelieveable!!, Go ahead and take away agood show and put more crap on TV!!!
-- Posted by: Pat Flaherty at April 6, 2007 1:19 PMUnbelieveable!!, Go ahead and take away a good show and put more crap on TV!!!
-- Posted by: Pat Flaherty at April 6, 2007 1:19 PMMost amazing show ever. So sad to see it end.
-- Posted by: Number One Fan at April 8, 2007 11:25 PMI absolutely love the show. I have probably seen every episode. Not to mention that the lives of Doug and Carrie resemble those of me and my boyfriend. We both watch the show religiously and hate to see it go. Unbelievable laughs and just an all around great sitcom. No words can describe how good of a show The King of Queens is.
-- Posted by: Marina at April 9, 2007 5:02 PMI love this show i hate to see this show go..tv is getting crazy putting stupid things on leave this king of queens on the air they are great and i haven't missed an eposide
All good things must come to an end....
But why the King of Queens.....?
What made it such a funny sitcom, was that it was so relatable, and you could see the stuff actually happenning in your own family and life!
It will be sorely missed! :(
-- Posted by: Jonathan at April 10, 2007 8:40 PMWhat!
I can not believe this show was canceled. I love the entire staff. You guys were apart of my family. I'll be watching re runs for the rest of my life. I will surely miss all of ya guys!!
Be Blessed,
JP
I wonder if they will end it with a new beginning of a new life. When characters have babies it always kill the show....so since it is going anyhow I hope they do this!!
-- Posted by: janis McKibbon at April 13, 2007 9:16 PMI have most of the dvd's of king of queens, and anytime I'm feeling crummy I love to watch them. This show is so funny, even after watching the same episodes! We take them with us on trips and usually have other people with us, we've gotten them hooked on this sitcom, so it's very disappointing to see it will soon be over....Good luck kevin, Leah, and Arthur!!!!
-- Posted by: Joy at April 18, 2007 10:42 AMNEED HELP!

-- Posted by: Nicole at April 25, 2007 8:14 PMyeah I'm sad to see this show go too. Its always like this, more crap on tv. But then again i guess its a good thing so I cant get from in front of the tv and do something
-- Posted by: Anonymous at May 2, 2007 11:41 AMI will miss you Kevin James!!!! Your show was the best and I will continue watching all the reruns in the future. I wish you the best of luck in your future career. I know you will do great! I also hope to see you again in stand up comedy (Albany). One love...Rochester NY.

-- Posted by: Josh at May 27, 2007 5:36 PMNicole.. did u find out where the house is located? i was wondering myself.
-- Posted by: Josh at May 27, 2007 5:36 PMI can't believe they are cancelling the show because of a salary dispute. This is by far the best show on TV. I have almost every episode. The show is still drawing a lot of viewers. It just shows why this station is not doing great like others I can think of. If they don't want to pick up the tab, sell it, maybe another network is not afraid to keep a good thing going.
-- Posted by: David Burke at July 9, 2007 5:24 PMOne of the best shows ever. I am so sad to see it go. I love watching re-runs and all but I can't believe there will be no more of their adventures. I am truly very sad to see the demise of this wonderful show; I will miss Doug and Carrie. Its so sad that they won't be on anymore, and will be replaced by some nonsense probably. It was nowhere near time for this show to leave the air - they still had more time left, in my opinion, before the show would get tired. I really wish there was something I could do, or something that could happen to keep this show on the air, but I guess now its gone forever. Like I said, syndication might be a remedy, but it definately wont be a cure. we love you guys!
-- Posted by: AA at July 10, 2007 2:42 AMman im sad that your shows over its the only show i watch and the funniest all the other ones are boring well i hope you and Leah could make one more season but if not theirs always chuck and larry
-- Posted by: david at July 30, 2007 1:35 AMthis is the only show my wife and I watched....only one question ..my wife says that all the hollywood actresses have hair extensions ...Is this true????
-- Posted by: Tim Kelley at August 7, 2007 10:22 AMThis does not surprise me. This world dosen't want shows like this. If it's not about sex or violence we don't want to watch it. I agree find another station to pick it up. We are running out of good shows. I hope you are effected by this decision CBS!!!!
-- Posted by: Mark Smith at September 11, 2007 5:28 PMHi,

I must say:without KoQ will something fail in my life. Me and my wife thank you for the cracking good show.
We wish you all the best and We wish you´ll be back again, I think many people need your show to laugh. Hey CBS, are you nuts? you never, never produce a tv series like KoQ NEVER.

Before we met, nothin' in my life was right,

You've blown me away, oh King of Queens(Margy).

You... were a woman...
and what was I? Let me tell you what i was, i was maddish
And in my words:
I need KoQ like a cigarette to my coffee
please come back.
