Kevin Smith Coming to Showtime

ksmith.jpgLooks like Kevin Smith is heading back to the small screen -- for a permanent gig. ComingSoon.net says that the director is teaming up with British actor James Purefoy for the Showtime comedy "Manchild."

Based on a BBC series, the show focuses around four friends going through various mid-life crises. The other two guys will be played by John Corbett and Paul Hipp.

The pilot hasn't been picked up yet, so Smith isn't exactly giving up life on the big screen. He currently has two movies in production, according to his IMDB.com profile. -- Rachel Cericola
