Bob Barker Retiring from TV

bbarker.jpgWill "The Price" ever be right again? It's doubtful. Reuters says that Bob Barker is retiring from "The Price is Right" after 35 years on the air.

At 82-years-young, Barker said the schedule was too demanding. He also hopes to devote more time to charity work. The TV host has been an avid animal rights activist for years, even closing every show with the signature: "Help control the pet population. Have your pets spayed or neutered."

Is there anyone out there that can tame the Plinko board? I can't imagine. However, if the show goes off the air, it would be the final nail in the coffin for national daytime game shows.

Barker will retire in June. "The Price is Right" airs each weekday on CBS. Check your local listings for showtimes. -- Rachel Cericola
