Supernova Needs a New Name

”tommy-lee.jpg"Someone should thank their lucky stars. The Washington Post is reporting that a federal judge has ruled that Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee and his band of reality TV misfits cannot use the name "Supernova" because another band has already staked their claim.

The judge should have ruled that the name sucks. It certainly hasn't done too much for the band that already has it, although I do like that song "Chewbacca" from the "Clerks" soundtrack ("What a Wookie!…").

The made-for-TV band includes Lee, former Guns N' Roses bassist Gilby Clarke, former Metallica bassist Jason Newsted and singer/show winner Lukas Rossi.

Epic Records will release the band’s album, no matter what the name. Their nationwide tour will kick off on New Year's Eve. -- Rachel Cericola

Gilby Clarke wasn't the bassist for GNR. He was the Rhythm guitar player. Duff McKagan was the bassist. Enjoy your site!
