Robert Smigel Developing Cartoon

Finally -- Robert Smigel has landed his own TV deal. Reuters is reporting that the hand behind (or up) Triumph the Insult Comic Dog will be developing a cartoon for Fox.

"Animals" will be a parody suburban life, but acted out by the cartoon animal kingdom. Greg Cohen ("King of the Hill") is co-writing with Smigel; Adam Sandler will serve as a producer, under his Happy Madison moniker.

"Animals" is expected to hit the air fairly quick, as part of Fox's Sunday all-animated lineup. However, no premiere date has been announced. -- Rachel Cericola
