Ellen DeGeneres to Host the Oscars

edegeneres.jpgWay to be controversial! After a very valiant effort from Jon Stewart this year, the TV Squad says that Ellen DeGeneres has been tapped to host the Academy Awards in 2007.

Personally, I was hoping for Conan to get the slot. He did a great job with the Emmys.

I am not an Ellen hater -- very few people are. That's what makes her a pretty safe selection, which also might spell "boring." I was genuinely interested when Stewart hosted, and thought he did a good job. Ellen shouldn't get too comfortable though; those people are just never happy!

I disagree with Rachel Cericola -Ellen DeGeneres has to be one of the funniest people right now in the comedy business. I'm sure she'll be anything but boring at the Oscars.

Ellen is great the talk show/award show gig. She is just real goofy and very funny. Conan worked very well with the Emmys, but ellen is a better host. Stewart is just too political and thinks what he says means something, which it does not. Stewart has become tremendously self important.
