Big surprise: ABC News says that Tina Fey is leaving "Saturday Night Live." After scoring a primetime deal with NBC for her sitcom "30 Rock," it seemed like only a matter of time before the head writer penned her resignation.
Fey spent six seasons working on the late-night variety show. She is also an anchor for the "Weekend Update" segment.
However, she hasn't exactly cut the cord just yet. Aside from casting former "SNL" regular Tracy Morgan, Rachel Dratch has also issued her walking papers to take part in the new weekly sitcom. And, of course, big daddy and "SNL" creator Lorne Michaels will serve as the new show's executive producer.
