Lorne Michaels Lines Up Cable Deal

lmichaels.jpgDespite the failure of "Sons & Daughters," Lorne Michaels is destined to branch out beyond Saturday nights.

Aside from executive producing the new Tina Fey sitcom, "30 Rock," Reuters says that the creator of "Saturday Night Live" is testing out his comedic eye on cable with "To Love and Die in L.A."

The show revolves around a woman who is convinced that all of her dating dreams will come true (or at least her nightmares will stop) if she tracks down the father that she never knew. USA Network may pick up the pilot, depending on who is cast. "Reunion" co-creator Sara Goodman wrote the script. -- Rachel Cericola
