Aaron Spelling Dies

aspelling.jpgI was out of town for the past few days without Web access, and it figures that I miss out on the TV story of the century -- TV mogul Aaron Spelling has died.

The New York Times says that Spelling died at home on Friday, less than a week after suffering a stroke. He was 83.

Aside from being a father to famous daughter Tori, the guy had his hands in virtually every successful TV series from the past four decades. Just a few of his success stories include "Dynasty," "Charlie's Angels," "The Mod Squad," "7th Heaven" and "Charmed."

Before stepping behind the scenes, Spelling served in the Army and also had a brief career as an actor, appearing in such series as "I Love Lucy" and "Gunsmoke."

Spelling is survived by his wife, Candy, daughter Tori and son Randy. -- Rachel Cericola
