This time, the jury has spoken. The Smoking Gun is reporting that "Survivor" winner Richard Hatch, who failed to pay taxes on his $1 million prize winnings and other earnings, has been sentenced to 51 months in prison. Ouch.
I guess it could have been worse; the maximum penalty is 13 years. The judge said he actually expected Hatch to get a more severe sentence, considering that he perjured himself multiple times during the trial. Personally, I think he should get more for being an idiot. Did he really think CBS would flip the bill for his winnings? Even worse, he passed up a reported plea deal. Sounds like when it comes to his "Survivor" skills, the well has run dry.
