"Aquaman," "Reba" Still Afloat

2006_aquaman_nolley.jpgLast week, the CW announced its very first fall schedule. It must have been hard to pick the best of the WB and UPN -- and throw some newbies into the mix. Speaking of which, why one of those new shows was not "Aquaman," well -- no one knows.

Now the Washington Post says that the show may be treading water, at least for the time being. Apparently, the network is considering it as a possible mid-season replacement. They certainly are keeping this news quiet though.

The same article says that "Reba" may be picked up in the midseason as well. Broadcasting & Cable also confirmed that report, but there's no other word on the status of "Aquaman." -- Rachel Cericola

Reba is the best and funniest show. To actually like the character of Barbra Jean who Brock cheated on Reba with is some very smart and creative writing. And some fantastic acting from all the actors in the show. And the show actually is good for the family to watch. Not full of smut. Reba is a fantastic singer and a very funny person. Please don't take a great show away. There are so few left!

My family would love to see Reba come back. Of all the shows we watch Friday nights always became Reba night. It's funny, clean, and always unusually clever.

I believe that the reason Reba is starting late is due to politics...She was the Cash Cow of the WB. So many people watched her - But the Media does as it likes - kinda like Castro

I dont understand cancelling shows that are just nothing but grrrrreat! My favorites that will be seriously missed are "Still Standing, Reba, Free Ride, Living with Fran, Yes Dear and last but not least, Out of Practice". These shows were the BEST and IT SUCKS BIG TIME to see them end! Oh by the way, what's the reason, huh?

-- Posted by: Jennifer at September 8, 2006 10:54 PM

I will absolutley boycot the WB if REBA is cancelled. i have watched this show from the beginning. it is refreshing to see a show with some sort of morals. PLEASE DONT LET IT GO!!!

-- Posted by: vicky at September 11, 2006 3:37 PM

If Seventh Heaven can be saved, why can't Reba? What is wrong with having four or five clean decent family shows in with all the trash on TV?

-- Posted by: Lois at September 11, 2006 10:00 PM

REBA is my favorite show. PLEASE bring it back. I'll boycott the CW if it doesn't come back.

-- Posted by: Cee Cee at September 16, 2006 9:21 AM

I can't believe the brought back that insipid 7th heaven for another year but cut Everwood. And if Reba's gone, I'm gone!!

-- Posted by: Janice at September 18, 2006 8:40 AM

Reba is one of the only shows that a family can sit down together and watch. Why let it go?

-- Posted by: Candyce at September 19, 2006 9:10 PM

I am so sick and tired of these networks getting rid of great sitcoms like Reba, Whoopi, Emeril, Yes Dear...and replacing them with TRASH or fricken Reality shows!!!! They do this because they want to appeal to the younger crowd, well most of the teenagers today are hanging out with friends or going out and are to busy to watch tv. We adults are the ones that are at home nights wanted to watch good TV. You executives need to listen and pay more attention to these comments instead of making quick decisions about canceling a show. You are going to have alot of people boycotting your new network if Reba gets cancelled!!!!!!

-- Posted by: Kevin Friend at September 19, 2006 10:06 PM

Next to Everybody Loves Raymond, Reba is the best sitcom to come down the pike in a long, long time. What are your programming execs thinking? With Reba gone, it's going to be hard to find a reason to watch the CW network. I'll boycott it just on general principles. I can live without seeing Gilmore Girls and 7th Heaven.

-- Posted by: Jan at September 22, 2006 10:25 PM

I think that CW will be making a huge mistake without Reba. PLEASE bring Reba back..I am already devastated that Still Standing is cancelled. I think if CW wants to please a lof of people...they should pick up Still Standing since CBS dropped it..and jumpstart that back up..and keep Reba!!!! There would be thousands of happy people!! Who's with me?

-- Posted by: Angee at September 22, 2006 11:13 PM

My whole family loved Reba! We will not be watching any of CW's new shows if they cancel the best show next to 7th heaven they have.

BRING BACK EVERWOOD!!!!!
PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111

If "REBA" is not brought back, I won't be back. Still Standing was a good one too. I think a lot of women relates to Reba and her experiences and that made it even better.

Reba and What I like about you are the funniest shows on television! Why take off the good shows that actually have morals and aren't smut??? I'm in with the boycot if you don't bring Reba back!

-- Posted by: Christina at October 4, 2006 9:10 PM

With the constant cancellation of popular shows , it makes me and I am sure other fans leary of getting attached to shows or characters that are introduced on networks. Personally I think their "target demo" excuse is as lame as Showtimes excuse about cancelling "Dead Like Me" because it portrays death the "wrong" way, however now they are advertising a show called "Dexter" about a Serial Killer/Cop. Wow, at the morality in that.
It is sad to say but we are basically at the mercy of these snobby execs who don't really care about the shows or audience but about the money they make from marketing to their target demo.

I agree with everyone...bring back Reba!!!!!

I do hope they bring back Reba---I'm ashamed to say....I Never Watched the show until Lifetime started running the reruns and it is the funniest show I've seen in a very long time. I even purchased season 1 and 2 and will be purchasing 3 tomorrow and can't wait till the 4th season comes out next month. This show is great! Due to the reality shows and those geared for the teens....my tv watching consists of tvland and lifetime for entertainment. Perhaps I should start reviewing the boards to discover other shows like "REBA" that are very entertaining. Anyone have some suggestions?

-- Posted by: tawny at October 13, 2006 12:44 AM

Please get REBA back on. It is the cleanest, funniest show out there. If the CW Network does not recognize its' worth, maybe another network with pick up REBA.... Things that make you go "hummmm."

-- Posted by: Tammi at October 16, 2006 1:16 PM

Have the execs for the CW ever watched Reba?!!! If so, they would realize it's one of the best shows to come along in awhile. They would be stupid to let it go.

-- Posted by: cindy at October 21, 2006 10:44 AM

Since you dumped Reba, I have NO Reason to watch the new "CW"! Not only was it funny but clean, but it also addressed important issues that fsmilies need help with, in an entertaining way. Please bring the show back. If not, I hope some other network is smart enough to pick it up. I'm sure all of us that miss it will be happy to watch another network to see Reba, and consequently programing before and after it!!!!!

-- Posted by: Jane Buchner at October 27, 2006 10:19 PM

I agree with all the comments posted here...what were you executives thinking when you cancelled "REBA!!!" It's a "TRUE GEM" of a show!!!...Van & Barbara Jean are "FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!"....As well as the rest of cast!!! My husband & I lovvvve & look forward to the show(s)! We laugh so flippin' hard at the storylines!! THANK YOU LIFETIME for picking it up!!! It is such a "FUNNY" show!!!...The writers are "GREAT!!!"...PLEEEEEZZZZ...PLEEEEEZZZZ....PLLLLEEEEZZZZ!!!!!! WHATEVER YOU DO BRING BACK "REBA" NOOOOWWWW!!!...Everyone get on the band wagon & write to save this show!!!!...ENOUGH REALITY SHOWS ALL READY!!! WHO ELSE AGREES WITH ME ON THAT SCORE!!!

PLEASE bring back Reba it is the BEST show i have ever seen. I agree with everyone else it is a show you can watch and not have to worry about your kids seeing something you dont want them to. It is simply the BEST show and i cant wait for the new season (thats wishiful thinking) Come on everyone make some comments and help them bring back the best show!

-- Posted by: Brooke at January 16, 2007 6:52 PM

I cant beleive they cancelled Reba, and What I Like About you. thats stupid! the only shows my whole family could watch and like it without feeling awkward are gone! how can they do this?!?! I think people should make a petition to bring some shows back. CW is horrible and they people who make the decisions should be fired because they do their job so poorly! i am ashamed watch CW if they act this way!

-- Posted by: Emily at March 3, 2007 12:07 AM

BRING BACK REBA, THE CW IS CRAP WITHOUT IT.

-- Posted by: BRING BACK REBA at September 21, 2007 1:32 PM
