Not everyone is hailing "Commander in Chief." Reuters says that the Geena Davis/Donald Sutherland drama has been pulled from ABC's schedule.
After a very promising launch, the show began to dip in the ratings, so ABC pulled it. After a lengthy hiatus, it reappeared on Thursdays and 10:00 p.m. (EST). Despite fans being upset that it had disappeared, it didn't do much in that timeslot, prompting the network to pull it for the rest of the season. It will be replaced by "Primetime."
Davis won a Golden Globe for her role as the first female president shortly before the show went on hiatus. The final three episodes of "Commander in Chief" are expected to air sometime this summer. -- Rachel Cericola
ABC substituting their trashy magazine for Commander in Chief is another example of how the networks are digging their own graves. With seemingly more commercials than programming material, capricous scheduling and the steady trimming of the number of new shows each year the major networks alienate even those diehard fans who try to follow the elusive few good shows left. Might as well wait till the shows get to cable and you can actually watch them when they are supposed to be on- night after night.
