Miss America Gets Real

jberry.jpgIn a last-ditch effort to get people interested in the Miss America Pageant, ABC News says that producers are planning to turn the classic competition into a reality show. Hopefully they will nix the testicle-eating portion of the program.

The pageant will be aired in seven episodes, all shot documentary style. At the end of the week, viewers will be allowed to vote in some of the finalists. If people already aren't interested, why drag it out into a week's worth of shows?

The Miss America Pageant recently moved to Las Vegas (and CMT) after 84 years in Atlantic City, N.J. The move was due to high costs and low fanfare.

"Finding Miss America" will air on CMT in the days leading up to the pageant in January. -- Rachel Cericola
