Marlee Matlin Joins "The L Word"

mmatlin.jpgAdd another face to "The L Word." USA Today is reporting that Marlee Matlin will join the ensemble cast, which includes Jennifer Beals, Pam Grier and Mia Kirshner.

Matlin will play a "fiery" artist that catches the eye of Bette (played by Beals). She won an Oscar for her portrayal in 1986's "Children of a Lesser God." More recently, Matlin was part of another ensemble cast -- on NBC's "The West Wing."

"The L Word" focuses on a circle of gay friends living in L.A. The fourth season will premiere on Showtime in 2007. -- Rachel Cericola
