John Stamos Checks into "ER"

stamos.jpgI was wondering why the "ER" writers didn't kill off John Stamos this season. The Insider says he is about to trade-in his guest-star status for a full-time gig on the hit NBC medical drama.

The rumor was that Stamos was being courted for his role as an EMT for a little while, but his commitment to the ABC sitcom, "Jake in Progress," kept him from taking the role. That show seems to be MIA, and he must be one likeable guy for them to keep the position open.

Stamos reprise his role as Tony Gates at the beginning of the show's 13th season. "ER" airs every Thursday at 10:00 p.m. (EST) on NBC. . -- Rachel Cericola
