Patricia Heaton Moves to ABC

pheaton.jpgTake a breather, honey! MovieWeb says that Patricia Heaton has already signed on for a new ABC sitcom. Guess she doesn't need any downtime, huh?

After nine seasons on "Everybody Loves Raymond," Heaton must have wanted to strike up a new deal while the iron was still hot. It certainly worked for costar Brad Garrett. Good for her. I always thought she'd go the way of the wife on "Home Improvement."

The untitled comedy will have Heaton starring as a recently widowed woman who gets back in the game by joining the PTA. It sounds like a good role for her, but will viewers keep thinking, "Raymond is dead?"

No word on other casting or when the show might get a title -- or a premiere date. -- Rachel Cericola

Here's more information for you.

Mo Collins has recently been cast in this pilot, along with Justine Bateman (of Arrested Development), who will play the role of Patricia's younger sister.
