Mindy Kaling Sells Script

She was the object of Paul Rudd's obsession in "The 40 Year-Old Virgin" and is current chatting up "The Office" as Kelly. Now Mindy Kaling has a new role: movie writer.

The Hollywood Reporter says that the writer and cast member of the NBC hit has sold a comedy script to Twentieth Century Fox.

The untitled movie is being described as "Revenge of the Nerds" meets "Animal House." That's a good description! No word on when the movie might start casting or is expected to premiere.

Kaling will be seen on the big screen again opposite Wilmer Valderrama in "Unaccompanied Minors." However, she's not quite ready to give up her day job. "The Office" airs every Thursday at 9:30 p.m. (EST) on NBC. -- Rachel Cericola
