Jay Mohr Volunteers for "Community Service"

mohr.jpgHe may not have to usher in the "Last Comic Standing," but you'll still be able to find Jay Mohr on NBC. Reuters says that the actor has signed to star in the new comedy "Community Service."

Mohr is a good choice, turning to his old standby persona -- an arrogant New Yorker. He decides to go to a small town in Ohio to find a lost love, and ends up getting community service instead.

It's not necessarily a bad idea, but do networks even care if shows go past one season anymore? I can't see how long this can be stretched out.

Christopher Wiehl will also star, which might mean no resurgence for "Love Monkey" on UPN. No word on when "Community Service" might premiere. -- Rachel Cericola
