Cue Europe's "The Final Countdown" -- and not for Gob. Tonight is what should be "Arrested Development's" swansong: A two-hour marathon of the last of the new episodes for the short, but sweet, third season. Honestly, I am not ready to give up on "Arrested Development" yet. On Fox? That's a different story.
USA Today has dueling stories: One that bids a fond farewell to the show, and another that claims that both ABC and Showtime are still interested in taking it over.
I've said this once and I will say it again: What the hell is the problem with Fox? They know they don't want to keep this show. They even claim that despite their "love" for the show, the chances of it coming back are slim to none. Why not just cancel it already?
Sure, I appreciate that Fox has kept it around this long. But was that because they just didn't have another installment of "The Littlest Groom" ready to rock? Considering that they have left a gaping hole between the last episode and committed their entire Friday night schedule to the last four episodes (opposite the opening ceremonies for the Olympics, by the way), has anyone seen one commercial promoting the all-new, and possibly the final, two-hour marathon? 'Nuff said.
And while I appreciate ABC's interest as well as their free-ness, I would rather see this show go to Showtime. I like the bleeps and the innuendo, but I also want to see it make it past three episodes, assuming it does make a move. Look at what happened to Heather Graham's "Emily's Reasons Why Not" It got the axe after one episode -- and had a few million more viewers than the average episode of "Arrested Development." Not sure why they'd even want it, except that maybe they are looking to fill their mantle with Emmys.
Whether it moves or not, I am ready to laugh my ass off tonight. Tune in for the two-hour marathon of "Arrested Development," starting tonight at 8:00 p.m. (EST) on Fox. -- Rachel Cericola
These last four episodes epitomized the genius of this show. Absolutely amazing.
Showtime -- you need to make this happen.

I will never understand why people didn't watch this show. Even the puppets were funny!

I wish Fox would axe it already.
