Joshua Jackson Back on TV

jjackson.jpgForget Dawson. It's Pacey that will be collecting the next TV paycheck. Reuters says that Joshua Jackson has signed on to lead a new CBS pilot.

The untitled legal drama is the brainchild of "CSI" executive producer Carol Mendelsohn. The former "Dawson's Creek" star plays a first-year associate.

No word on when the show might get a name -- or a premiere date. Until then you can look for Jackson in the upcoming indie release "Bobby." -- Rachel Cericola

Futon Critic has made an annoucement about the title and character information for Josh's role:

IN THE SHADOW OF THE LAW (CBS) - Joshua Jackson ("Dawson's Creek") is the first to be cast in the drama pilot, about a group of smart legal associates trying to make partner at a powerful Washington, D.C.-based law firm while dealing with a host of moral, ethical and legal challenges. Jackson will play Mark Clayton, a first-year associate at the firm whose career takes an unexpected turn when he is assigned the case of a death row inmate. In addition, Danny Cannon ("C.S.I.: Crime Scene Investigation") is on board to direct the hour, which comes from "C.S.I." show runner Carol Mendelsohn and CBS Paramount Network Television.
