I honestly had high hopes for Fred Savage's return to TV. Him as a gay sitcom character? Not so much. I have nothing against gay characters on TV (or in real life, for that matter), but there's just a bit too much Kevin Arnold in there.
Maybe that's what audiences thought too, since the TV Squad is reporting that ABC has put the show on indefinite hiatus. A lot of series have been taking an Olympics break -- although most of them were on NBC. Either way, that vacation seems to have been extended indefinitely.
I'm going to add this to the pile of shows that -- whether you thought it was good or not -- got killed off before it was able to find an audience. 'C''mon! Give Kevin Arnold a chance, for chrissakes. Putting the show opposite "The Office" was obviously not a good idea, but it didn't do so bad. Why not give it one chance in another timeslot before killing it off completely?
There are eight episodes still out there somewhere. Whether ABC will bring it back for the summer or banish them to iTunes is still to be determined.
ABC plans to plug the space with an extended edition of "Dancing with the Stars," a few movies, the premiere of "American Inventor" and "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition." Long vacation, indeed. -- Rachel Cericola
I think that the show should be put back on because it didn't get much of a chance especially after getting put alongside The Office it didnt much attention, I should know, because my dad wanted me to watch The Office all the time, but I poured all my heart out to Crumbs, and I absolutely have mad respect for the show because of that!!
