We've seen the smartest, fattest and fittest people compete for cash and prizes. So why not the richest? Zap2it is reporting that the WB has announced "Survival of the Richest," a reality show that shoots for the American dream -- and not just the dream to be on a reality show.
Seven well-off individuals will be paired with seven people that are, well, not so well off. The press release says that the richie riches have a combined net worth of $3 billion while the other side adds up to about $150,000. Will it be a culture clash? The network is hoping so. I foresee plenty of fodder for comedian/"Queer as Folk" star Hal Sparks, who will play host.
Each week, one team will be eliminated, leaving the final two to collect a $200,000 cash prize -- not that one half of the team needs that kind of chump change.
"Survival of the Richest" will premiere on the WB in summer 2006. -- Rachel Cericola
