ABC News is reporting that Richard De Angelis, best known for his portrayal of Col. Raymond Foerster on HBO's "The Wire," has died at the age of 73.
De Angelis, who also had roles in "Homicide: The Movie," "The Man Who Wasn't There," and more recently, John Waters' "A Dirty Shame," died December 28 of congestive heart failure. His son also reported that he had additional problems due to prostate cancer.
Born in Boston, De Angelis' career spanned over 40 years. His resume also included radio, print and TV commercials as well as a standup career under the name Ricky Roach. -- Rachel Cericola
