Jon Stewart to Host Oscars

For years, the Oscars have been trying to get hip. Despite their endless attempts to get Billy Crystal back behind the hosting mic, they have freshened things up a bit with recent hosts like Steve Martin and Chris Rock. Now Bloomberg.com says they've tapped "Daily Show" host Jon Stewart to wow the typically humorless crowd of celebs at this year's event.

This will be Stewart's first foray into hosting the show. He's no stranger to the stage though, collecting plenty of Emmys over the past few years. He's also hosted the Grammys in the past.

The 75th annual Academy Awards will air March 5 on ABC. -- Rachel Cericola
