Hiatus for "Commander in Chief"

gdavis.jpgABC is giving "Commander in Chief" the one-finger salute. Fox News says that the network that once hailed the freshmen drama is actually pulling it until they can fix its lagging approval rating.

Sort of shocking, considering Geena Davis' recent Golden Globe as well as the show's first few weeks, which saw the show as a top 10 mainstay. They are going to use the timeslot to kick off the first six weeks of "Sons & Daughters."

The hiatus should begin immediately. The show should return to its regular timeslot on April 18. And finally, I'd have to say good luck to any show that's going to premiere against "American Idol." -- Rachel Cericola

Dear Sir or Madam:

I can not believe that ABC is putting Commander in Chief on the shelf!!!!!!!! My whole family has been watching this show since its beginning and even my daughter thinks it is great that the president is a woman. I am really mad at ABC for doing this. I used to think ABC had show character, but I see that it is just like any other network where all they think is the realty shows are in. It was very refreshing to watch a TV show that was funny, dramatic, and moving. My family and I are very disappointed that ABC has done this. I hope that the executives will see this comment and know that not all Americans are watching American Idol (at the beginning at least). I just wanted to vent some frustration that when a good show is on and then suddenly someone in the network thinks that it is not doing well. If anything they should try another night at least.

Sincerely,

Glenda

My wife and I are considerably disappointed at the removal of the "Commander in Chief"!
Believable characters, story and ethics
were presented. A great show for the
American family. Bring it back on another
day ASAP!

Commander in Chief is a far better show than so many on TV today. Come on ABC, show some committment and style. This is a good family show that has good two or three year potential. Maybe more. I bet your audience demographivs are better than you think.

I just want ABC to know that I really enjoy this show I looked forward to watching it every week. I don't watch TV that often but this was my favorite show. I think that the ratings dropped because you guys kept skipping an episode and then the very next week putting on a rerun. That is very frustrating to the typical viewer. Please bring it back ASAP!!!

THEY CANCELLED WHAT??????????/

Dear ABC folks,
Cancelling Commander in Chief was & is a mistake. It's a good solid program - watching Geena Davis as president gives hope as to what an actual female president could be. My husband & I made sure we watched the show every week & it was the only show we did that with. Do what it takes to re-institute the show. There's too much other garbage being left on TV that needs to be removed!!

As the article says, the show will be back in April... but I think ABC is watching it a bit more closely. It's not the powerhouse it appeared to be after the premiere. So make sure to watch!
