Fox Likely to Cancel "Arrested Development"

arrested_gob.jpgBig surprise: Fox doesn't like Emmys. Zap2it says that Fox president Peter Ligouri announced that award-winning sitcom "Arrested Development" is pretty much finished at the network.

While there has been no official announcement, he said in a press conference on Tuesday that it's "highly unlikely" that the show will see another season at Fox. Really? We are all shocked. The way they have been jerking everyone around this season, maybe they thought we'd just forget about the show altogether.

I can't really blame Fox. It has been a ratings loser for them. Sure, they have pulled and twisted the timeslot, but in a network overstuffed with reality programming, how can any of the shows be expected to survive?

What is cheesing me off is how they are shuffling their feet about the whole thing. Cancel it already so the show can either move on or retire. While I am still holding out hope that one of the many networks that expressed interest will latch on, I am just tired of the suffering.

Just don't expect to be put out of your misery any time soon. Ligouri also says that a final decision won't be made until they have a better idea of its "development slate for next season." Uh huh.

The final four episodes of "Arrested Development" will air in a two-hour block on February 10 on Fox.

If Arrested Development is picked up by another network we will all eat Bluth Bananas and sing the final countdown in joy. If you haven't seen Will Arnett on Conan yet, it's hilarious. I posted it on my blog:
