After much speculation about who could fill Peter Jennings shoes, ABC News has announced that Elizabeth Vargas and Bob Woodruff will co-anchor ABC's "World News Tonight."
Both of the anchors have seen screen time since Jennings announced that he had lung cancer earlier this year. Vargas is coming from "20/20," a job that she will actually continue. Woodruff has been the anchor of the weekend edition of the "World News Tonight" broadcast.
The show is also boasting that they will be the very first network evening newscast to broadcast live in each of the three time zones. The three newscasts, which also includes a daily Webcast, will begin January 2. -- Rachel Cericola
