\nUPN certainly is attracting some bigger names these days. First they nab Chris Rock, and now filmmaker Penny Marshall has signed on to create programming for the smallest of the major networks. \n\nRemember when everyone thought that Shirley was the smart one for leaving \"Laverne & Shirley?\" Now ComingSoon.net says that Marshall will develop \"On the Edge,\" a one-hour crime drama about a female DA trying to solve her parents' murder mystery. Sort of like a \"Boston Legal\" meets \"Batman\" -- except Batman is blind drunk, since the main character suffers from drug and alcohol problems as well. \n\nThe rumor is that Marshall may also direct the pilot.
