Tracy Morgan Signs for Tina Fey Project

tmorgan.jpgTwo "Saturday Night Live" alums are branching out, and -- big surprise -- it also includes the almighty Lorne Michaels. Are SNLers bonded to that guy for life or what? The Hollywood Reporter says that former cast member Tracy Morgan is teaming up with current cast member/writer Tina Fey for an untitled sitcom on NBC.

Fey will write and Morgan will star in the show about a self-assured comedian starring in "Friday Night Bits," an "SNL"-styled show. Will we see some parallels? Some possible venting? Hopefully. Fey had a huge hit with her pet writing project, "Mean Girls," so I have very high hopes for this one.

Morgan could also use a good vehicle. The guy is funny. Unfortunately, his short-lived "The Tracy Morgan Show" wasn't. Morgan was recently seen in "The Longest Yard," and is currently working on two other films. Aside from Fey's "SNL" duties, she has just penned her second film, "Curly Oxide and Vic Thrill." No word on when this show might make it to pilot. -- Rachel Cericola
