No Sharpton Sitcom

sharpton2.jpgIt did seem too good to be true. Just weeks after word was out that CBS was trying to sign the Reverend Al Sharpton to star in the sitcom "Al in the Family," USA Today is reporting that only one person that loves Sharpton more than TV audiences -- and that's Sharpton himself.

The Reverend claims he is "not interested in being Archie Bunker," but actually has loftier pursuits, like becoming president one day. Hollywood success certainly has worked for other would-be politicians, but you have to hand it to Sharpton for not going for the easy paycheck. And if things don't work out, there's always a guest spot open on "The West Wing." -- Rachel Cericola
