FOX Commits to "Worst Week"

worstweek.jpgWill "The Worst Week of My Life" be comedy gold for Fox? The Hollywood Reporter says that the network is dipping across the pond for its next sitcom premise.

The show is based on a 2004 BBC series about one couple's scary week before their wedding. Each episode would count for one day in the week. But don't count on the show wrapping with a big grand wedding finale. Apparently the bad week follows this couple like the Adams Family rain cloud. Fox would want to milk their pain in seven-episode blocks, chronicling when the pair moves into a house, has a baby, etc.

Lately it seems like if we're not doing remakes, we're looking overseas for fresh ideas. While I am a fan of "The Office," will this go more of the route of "Coupling?" There just has to be a reason why the BBC cut it off after seven episodes.

Ed Decter and John Strauss, two of the twisted minds behind "There's Something About Mary," are on board to work on the project -- which is a plus. No word on casting or when it's scheduled to go to pilot. -- Rachel Cericola
