Everybody Loves Reverend

sharpton.jpgCharlie Sheen, Kevin James and -- Al Sharpton? Variety says that CBS is eyeing the good Reverend for a new family sitcom.

The name is priceless: "Al in the Family." Sharpton would pretty much play himself. There was no word on what other characters would come into the half-hour comedy.

Not too long ago, TV One was saying they had nabbed Reverend Al for a talk show-type show, "Sharp Talk." But I guess when the big boys call, you answer.

Peter Ackerman ("Robots") is going to write the pilot. Jamie Widdoes is set to direct. You might remember his name from such shows as "Out of Practice," "My Wife and Kids" and "The King of Queens." I remember him as Hoover from "Animal House." No word on when the pilot might air. -- Rachel Cericola
