CBS Wants Katie Couric

couric.jpgKatie Couric could be sick of being a day person. After all, it's got to be difficult getting up early and dealing with Matt, Al and the slew of crowds that hover outside of NBC's "Today" show.

E! Online says she could soon kiss all of that goodbye -- at least if CBS has its way. The Eye is looking to add Couric to their nightly newscast lineup. Despite her cheery demeanor and the fact that she is under contract at NBC until May, reports are that she is the top choice to take over the hard-hitting "CBS Evening News."

Couric has been with NBC for 15 years. Bob Schieffer has been filling in on CBS since Dan Rather stepped down last spring. -- Rachel Cericola

I thought Kute Katie was with "Todaze" for almost fifteen years, and was an NBC correspondent for four or five years before that.

You are right! She has been with "Today" for 15 years, but was with NBC for a few years before that in various slots. She was with ABC and CNN before that. Thanks!

I will stop watching CBS..I like it the way it is. There are better news
reporters at NBC like Ann if CBS wants someone new.....
