CBS Opens "Red Doors"

reddoors.jpgCBS is dipping into the ethnic pool for its latest drama. says they've ordered the script for "Red Doors," a primetime soap revolving around a Chinese-American family with three daughters.

The plotline is based on writer/director Georgia Lee's indie debut, which took home a few prizes, including one at the Tribeca Film Festival. The series is being billed as a comedy/drama, but also a soap. Could it be the Asian "Melrose Place?" One can only hope.

Lee will serve as a producer as well as writer for the pilot. No word on casting or when the show might air. -- Rachel Cericola

Yeah I heard about this too. On their website ( it says that all three partners in Blanc De Chine are writing and producing it together. Georgia, Jane Chen, and Mia Riverton, who also played the lesbian love interest in the movie (HOT!). The info is on their blog. The rest of the blog entries are pretty entertaining too. They're all really good writers, no surprise.
