Pat Morita Dies

morita.jpgNPR is reporting that Pat Morita has passed away at the age of 73. The actor reportedly died of natural causes at his home in Las Vegas.

Even though he had worked as a comic and had a variety of smaller TV roles, Morita's big claim to fame -- and my favorite role -- was that of Arnold on TV's "Happy Days." From there, he had a variety of TV and movie roles, but his most famous line was from the 1984's "The Karate Kid," where he instructed a young Ralph Macchio how to "wax on, wax off."

The actor went on to star in a slew of other films, and had recently wrapped up two: "Angst" and "American Fusion." At the time of his death, he was working on another film titled "Princess."

Morita is survived by his wife and three children from a previous marriage. -- Rachel Cericola
