Nickelodeon Orders More SpongeBob

spongebob2.jpgWho lives in a pineapple under the sea? It's the same yellow, porous cartoon creature that just scored another 20 episodes on Nickelodeon.

USA Today says the new deal will make it a total of 100 animated under-the-sea adventures. Not surprised. Judging by the marketing, which has generated about $4 billion to date, it didn't look like our little underwater friend was coming up for air anytime soon.

The network estimates that a large percentage of that merchandise was purchased for adults. They also say that 25 percent of Friday's viewers were adults as well.

"SpongeBob SquarePants" airs multiple times a day all week long. Check Nick.com for programming details. -- Rachel Cericola
