Maury & Connie: Together On-screen

maury.jpgGo Maury! The TV Squad says that Maury Povich is getting a new show and it doesn't involve transvestites, paternity tests or birth defects. However, it does have Mrs. Maury, Connie Chung.

The real-life married duo will host a Saturday morning news show on MSNBC. The two will sit around debating the week's events, sometimes with guests. In other words, it's a normal Saturday at the Povich house. Actually, it sounds a little like the Weekend Update Point/Counterpoint skit from the old "Saturday Night Live." Unfortunately, I just can't picture Maury calling the Missus an "ignorant slut."

You never know though. The show is the brainchild of the Lizz Winstead, who was the former head writer of "The Daily Show" -- although that was pre-Jon Stewart.

The untitled show will air four times over each weekend, beginning at 10:00 a.m. (EST) each Saturday. The first show premieres January 7, 2006 on MSNBC. -- Rachel Cericola
