"Lost" Loses Main Character

mgrace.jpgI really hate spoilers. I do. I hate when people think just because they've watched a TV show or have seen a movie, that so has everyone else on the face of the Earth. Maybe we should require that all of those reporters call every single person in every single phonebook and ask them if they've seen critical episodes. Yes -- I am talking to you, Yahoo!

Here comes the spoiler. Wait for it or shield your eyes. You have been warned.

Well sorry, I am not one of the 20-some-million people that probably watched "Lost" last night, and learned that a main character had died. Thankfully, there were a TON of reports on the Web to spoil it for me immediately following. CNN and Bella Online deserve a lot of props. Apparently they know how to write without having to blurt out secrets. For the rest of you -- and you know who you are -- I want to know what the next 12 movies you are going to see are, because I am going to email you all of the endings.

Now that my blood pressure has returned to normal, Shannon (Maggie Grace) is gone. Even though commercials sort of made it look like Sawyer was going to bite the dust, they did deliver on their promise: to kill off one of the characters. Seems that trigger-happy Ana Lucia (Michelle Rodriguez) "accidentally" shot Shannon in the chest, she collapsed into lover Sayid's (Naveen Andrews) arms, and had her final shot at that Emmy nomination.

"Lost" airs Wednesdays at 9:00 p.m. (EST) on ABC. For "Lost" reviews and news, visit Filmfodder's Lost Blog. -- Rachel Cericola
