Finally NBC is doing something right. They may not have too much to crow about in their primetime lineup, but ABC News says that "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" is winning its timeslot. Really?
I don't know anyone that watches "The Tonight Show" anymore -- at least not on purpose. Maybe I am gripping to memories of the Velcro suit and the Guy Under the Stairs, but I still find Letterman to be fairly entertaining when I watch him. Unfortunately, my job often gets in the way. But really -- I think I'd rather watch Jimmy Kimmel. Enough with the Jay Walking. We get it. The addition of John Melendez, formerly of "The Howard Stern Show" and formerly stuttering, has turned me off even more. I can't imagine a more annoying person on the planet.
But hey -- what do I know. Rumor has it that the show's audience has increased by four percent this year, making the average 5.6 million viewers. Letterman is down five percent. Maybe he needs to give out more hams.
