She may be able to see the dead, but even Patricia Arquette couldn't have predicted this deal. The Sci Fi Wire is reporting that Lifetime has purchased the rights to air reruns of "Medium," for a mere $1.35 million per episode.
The thriller, which is based on real-life experiences of psychic detective Allison DuBois, has generated huge buzz lately, with Arquette's Emmy win for best actress and the recent 3-D promotion for November sweeps.
The price tag is the most that the women's network has ever paid for a syndicated series. It could end being a lot of cake if NBC keeps renewing the series. However, the deal has the number of episodes capped at 10 years.
"Medium" will start airing on Lifetime in 2009. New episodes air every Monday at 10:00 p.m. (EST) on NBC. --- Rachel Cericola
