FOX Signs Margaret Cho

cho.jpgMargaret Cho has probably been called a lot of things in her life, but will "a good mom" be one of them? FOX seems to think so. UPI is reporting that the network has signed up the notorious C.H.O. for a sitcom deal.

The show is based on the material she does on her mom in her standup act. "Finally, I get to become my mother," Cho told "Variety."

ABC's "American Girl" didn't fare so well, but it also sounded like they were kind of a pain in the ass, telling Cho to lose weight and some of her ethnicity. Nice. She uses some of that pain in her standup act, and since the premise of this show roots from the same act, I would think it would last a bit longer.

Cho is currently wrapping two films, "Social Grace" and "I'mPerfect." No word on when the sitcom might air. -- Rachel Cericola
