"The Colbert Report" Gets Picked Up

Well that was awful quick. TV Week says that Comedy Central has picked up "The Colbert Report" through the 2006 season.

It was sort of a no-brainer. Colbert's straight-man satire style of news has played well with reviewers and viewers alike. The new show has doubled that timeslot's ratings for the network, retaining better than 85 percent of its lead in, "The Daily Show."

"The Colbert Report" airs every Monday through Thursday at 11:30 p.m. (EST) on Comedy Central. -- Rachel Cericola
